On May 28th, the S7 Political Science students learned about Albania’s transition to democracy in a conference led by Ms. Irida Varfi-Boehrer, a member of the Council of Europe’s Department of Social Rights/Directorate General of Human Rights and Rule of Law.
Through a very personalized account, Ms. Varfi-Boehrer was able to share with the students her recollections and experiences as a child living under a communist regime, and how the very tumultuous transition to democracy in her home country, Albania, took place.
